Our university is a vibrant, welcoming place, one where what you can imagine can come true. Our professors love to share in the learning and discovery process alongside their students – whether in a laboratory,
on stage, in a clinic, in the archives, or while hiking in nearby Shenandoah National Park. As president, I spend most of my time working with others to lead this institution. But, my favorite hours each week are spent with students – having dinner with them in my home with my family, traveling abroad with them, attending their performances or presentations, or learning with them in the course I teach each year.
